Community Design Considerations

Design Considerations

*A nice flow thru the camp by two diagonals. One the emergency egress road which will be the camp promenade, and the other a opposite diagonal placement of vehicles and tents.

*The perimeter is pretty much ringed with vehicles.

*An emergency egress road. After setting up leaving early would not be easy, but would be possible.

*The community structure is ringed by anchor vehicles. This will provide support and wind blockage as well as allowing 12 volt power for the lights.

*Dan has made LED lights for the interior. Nice.

*The public entry to the community area is a 10x10 canopy opening into the main and higher space. The Brie Bach table is visible from the entry and at the back corner so that a flow of visitors is encouraged.

*The health department required wash space is behind the brie and bach table and it is situated so that a server could be utilized. ( The health department might require this.)

*The massage table and a shower water catchment are in the opposite corner from the Brie,Bach table. Last year we didn't do massages cause of the awful weather. This might encourage use of the table.

*The indoor shower catchment area will allow late night showers protected from the rather cool breeze. The idea will be for each person to bring their own solar heated water bag, and a gray water container. We'll have a hand pump to fill your container with your gray water.

*Costumes to share will be along the massage table and shower wall.

*Community entry will be from the car tent door.

*The back midsection will be the colorful fabric that Sue and Roberta did last year.

*The center section will be a 10 x 20 piece of 80% aluminet. This should block much of the afternoon sun, slow the winds, and since it stretches allow an interesting shape. It will not be dust proof. We'll have a car tent side panel available that we can install to create a more dust proof area on one side, somewhat like we did last year. Hope it's not necessary.

*The front contour is so we can sit in the front – a popular activity last year – and watch the constant parade. (Vel's car will block the view a bit but we need it in front because she has to leave on Tuesday.)

* Mike and Sue's “Why Clothes” camp will be on one side with their own signage.
