“The Elders” theme camp Cleanup plan
Our cleanup plan includes:
1. Planning. We are planning meals, equipment, and showers, to minimize problems in keeping our camp clean and to ease the final cleanup. (Meals preplanned and individually packaged in wrap that we will carry out and
in quantities to have little or no waste. We each are leaving sufficient room in our vehicles to pack all of our waste out. We, collectively, are carrying brooms, vice grips, sledge, ropes, trash bags, etc to assure that we can remove anything that we need to.
2. Daily life: We plan on picking up daily and simply not having a messy camp site. We have small garbage sacks on our bikes to help pickup any trash seen during our travels in the larger area. We are planning no fires.
3. Final cleanup. Each person in our camp will be responsible for clearing and packing all of their own materials, tents, lines, stakes, etc. All of us will make a final check of the camp area after everything
is loaded.
4. Bob Yant and Jim Noel will make a final survey to assure that "we leave no
trace."
5. We all feel strongly about "the leave no trace" ethic and we've all read and assimilated the list of topics in the "cleanup basics" section of the Burning Man web site.
