February 27, 2010 - Dick Hughes has volunteered to coordinate "The Elders" theme camp for 2010. A questionnaire has been sent to everyone on the mailing list to see what the level of interest is and to use as input for developing the 2010 plan.

Is "The Elders" 2010 theme camp going to happen?
Currently, 12 days after the 2009 burn, no one has volunteered to coordinate the 2010 theme camp. I will keep the web site running and add photos from 2009 participants to the private area as folks send them to me. Wayne has volunteered to do an edited CD of the photos. Some of my thoughts on simplifying for 2010 are in various emails reviewable by clicking on "viewrecent posts."
To contact folks you are welcome to log in and use the mass contact, or click on a name from the left sidebar, choose contact and write away.
I have enjoyed coordinating for the last five years and have especially enjoyed the opportunity to experiment with structures for the community.
Thanks all,
Jim

About "The Elders"
From 4 to 6 each afternoon (except Wednesday) we offer a "Brie, Bach, and Talk" get together. Come and join us for relaxed conversation about many, many topics. The Brie and wine are delicious too!
At other times just drop in and say hello. Last year we had impromptu drumming, massage and body painting. Totally unscheduled.
Who are we? A bunch of "elders", age wise from fifty or so up to the early seventies. We're, collectively, bicyclists, hikers, physicists, engineers, teachers, psychologists, oceanographers, counselors, artists, homebuilders, grandparents, naturalists, naturists and who knows what else. Mostly we're actively retired.
Our camp is very informal. We try to set it up so that spontaneous camp events, can just happen. The community space includes the 30' x20' structure with a massage table, solar bag shower area, and "health permit" properness for our "Brie, Bach, and Talk"
We tend to have open minds about theology, drugs, nudity, music, art, porta potti's, and dust storms. But talk to any of us individually and you'll soon find a very varied number of viewpoints. All supported, or perhaps fossilized :) , by many years of life's experiences.
